The jump was amazing, but you can CLEARLY see some very bad questionable and wrong things surrounding this whole production just from this short video itself, like when the actors were going in on each other and then nobody gives them ANY actual direction so after a while they stop and then people tell them to keep going, which wasnt necessary at all, so they needlessly start acting again... makes me laugh 😅. Also the guy telling them to use the flashlight and they didnt have it and he eyerolls so bad LMAO, that movie is a disaster, i wish we could watch a whole documentary about the BTS of it all.

Fun fact: The costume is mostly blue with red gloves, boots, mid-section, and mask. Peter designed a web pattern that covers the red portions of the suit, starting at the mask. The suit also has a black spider in the center of the chest and a larger red spider on the back, both of different designs. (You can tell by just looking at the suit.)

This would have made the film infinitely better. I always wondered what the aliens looked like. N this is a very cool design. Love the feet specifically, and the gooeyness of the workings. It brings in that extra visual of what the thing actually looked like breaking out of the ice in this film. When you can, always go with practical effects. Especially for a film like this that made its legendary cult status from such effects. I for the life of me can not understand why they cut this... when we get to the ship in the film. It feels anticlimactic. I always wondered if the thing wasnt this alien race’s pet, or what was going on. If there isnt two, a leader and a pet. Cause it always seems in the films that one of the imposters is more self aware and the thing itself is just waiting to assimilate.

The thing 1982 was masterpiece

I saw this movie for the first time on free TV as a child/teenager with my mom (during the day 😅). I 've loved the Alien films so far and was excited about this one. But this scene... I could only see through my fingers and was afraid of the living Ripley clone. In the evening my mother had to stay in bed with me because I was sooo scared of the clones that I couldn't sleep alone in my room. Even many years later I couldn't watch this scene. Now I'm old 😅, I love the creativity of the models, it's so cool! 🥰 A little tip for anyone who is afraid of a film or part of it: watch the making of!

I hope we get to see the original cut of this movie someday. This is a massive shame. Arrow video or Shout!factory should release the original cut in a collector's edition

The Alien design itself is obviously inferior to the original trilogy, but even here what ADI fully do and I have respect for is making the thing look alive and convincing. All of that goodness was washed out of view in the final product

The comparison is already well known, But I gotta say, I saw this in the actual film and thought “well, that’s kinda neat.” And just forgot about it. Seeing it here, I honestly tensed up. The closer it got to his face was chilling. Each take my mind just went “Oh god no!!” I’m so sorry the film industry is run by people who don’t understand film and only listen to the algorithm. This was almost an amazing tribute and perfect double feature to John Carpenter’s film.

It's like playing with a HUGE animatronic toy. A very creepy and awesome animatronic toy. I love when Alien films have practical effects, yet my dream would be to see a functional animatronic Xenomorph in the flesh and wires.

All these hardwork for nothing? That's so sad.

When the camera panned to the living clone in the movie I shuddered and got cold. Such an intense moment for the viewers and Ripley.

I just finished the movie and it was a massive disappointment. I remember seeing this making of video and was expecting these super cool animatronics puppets and what did we got? Shitty cheap cgi, I can't even..

They brought back the original Aliens queen prop and worked so hard to restore it only for it to be slapped apart by the Newborn 😂
